Familia Manuel G found Operation Family Freedom through Facebook when he was searching for a way to help his family. Familia Manuel G fled from their home country of Venezuela and found that life in Colombia was also challenging without any other family support. Boarders being shut down thanks to COVID-19 prevented the family from returning to the support of extended family. Familia Manuel G contemplated walking back amid the Pandemic, but felt it was unsafe. Familia Manuel G found a way to purchase some cheese and eggs wholesale that could be resold for a small profit. With the assistance of Operation Family Freedom Familia Manuel G was able to purchase some intial invintory to open a small business to help support his family by selling basic food staples during the COVID-19 quarantine.
