Familia Madena – Turning Sand into Living Space

Familia Madena outlined a business plan and identified the materials they needed to be successful. Operation Family freedom was able to assist them with acquiring cement rods, cement, and sand. Using the materials provided they were able to construct Laundry tubs, used for handwashing clothing, cement blocks, used for constructing buildings, and kitchen counters. Once they were able to sell several of these items they were able to continue to build more and sustain their family.

Familia Madena expressed extreme gratitude to Operation Family Freedom and all those families that contributed financially to the foundation, which allowed them to progress and get ahead of the government dependence.

*for various reasons associated with extreme poverty it is essential that the names and identifies of the recipients be changed to protect them. This family has requested this protection and so we have modified the name.
