Life in a  Socialist Country

Greetings Operation Family Freedom friends.

My name is Daniel Moreno I am Venezuelan.  I have been asked by Operation Family Freedom to share some of my experiences in my country.

With so much news on the social networks of Venezuelans and the crisis that they are going through in these times, the question may have crossed your mind: What other options do they have in Venezuela? There should be a way out of all these problems.

The most logical thing is that hope and motivation aim to find a way out, a respite or relief in the midst of so many problems, however, the reality is very different for a person who lives in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan people are currently subject to two different ideologies, socialism, and the opposition.

The most logical thing is that hope and motivation aim to find a way out, a respite or relief in the midst of so many problems, however, the reality is very different for a person who lives in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan people are currently subject to two different ideologies but with the same results, socialism, and the opposition.

It is no secret that socialism has done a great job of ending everything in Venezuela. Industries, production, and international agreements were the first to suffer the effects of poor government management. The government always claims they can do a better job. However, they do a terrible job.  They are not good at anything. The people have no food, no electricity, no opportunity or industry.  The socialist government puts forth the pretense that they allow choice, but they do not.

The opposition for many years has tried to counterattack the ruling the government to remove them from power. The truth is that the opposition could be a better option for the Venezuelan people. They claim they will allow more freedom and agency for the people.  However, they are not in power, and whenever the socialists see, they are getting to much power.  People start disappearing, they are either killed or are sent to prison.

During this great power struggle, it is the people who ultimately suffer the consequences. However, the socialist government does nothing for the people.  Days go by, and life becomes more difficult,  Nothing changes the lifestyle in Venezuela, human rights are still on the ground, public services in many parts of the country are scarce and in others totally null. Getting sick is a terrifying matter without having supplies in hospitals, you are subject to miserable salaries and exorbitant prices, exposure to crime is a constant of life, hyperinflation is like the sun that shines for everyone equally, education for everyone is very limited. Life is a true feat with so few resources. In short, in Venezuela there is no choice but to live off the leftovers of what the government officials and they take the best parts for themselves.

Despite all this, the Venezuelan goes out every day to fight for his daily bread, hoping to improve his life and that of his family.
