Familia Mendoza – Cancer and a New Seamstress

Familia Mendoza lives in Anzoátegui, Venezuela, and she found Operaiton Family Freedom through its Facebook page. Familia Mendoza has been going through a critical situation as a family. Apart from the difficult situation that exists in their country and the high prices of basic necessities, it is also very difficult to get gasoline.

In December of Last year Hermana Mendoza was diagnosed with uterine cancer, the situation from that moment became complicated for them as a family since the chemo drugs that were required were very expensive. They were also forced to move from one place to another, which was also expensive. Hermana Mendoza reported that she was thankful to God for her ability to get several treatments of chemotherapy but she was lacking to finish up some of the required treatments.

Hermana Mendoza was able to receive limited help from some family and friends but was often not enough. Hermana Mendoza knew that the best way to provide for her family while dealing with Cancer was to build a business using her sewing machine. However, she lacked the necessary material and some of the tools to assist with her sewing machine. Hermana Mendoza applied for a grant to invest in fabrics, needles, threads, and to teach her daughter how to also sew.

Operation Family Freedom was able to facilitate the purchase of some tools and material in order to grow her business and help provide for her family and to handle the hardships of Cancer.
