Familia Ramona – Cheese and Sausages
Familia Ramona contacted Operation Family Freedom after she was forced to stop teaching due to COVID-19. Ramona is a 60 years old woman who lives with her 13-year-old daughter. Ramona lives in Venezuela and had very limited access to the internet and communication. Over the course of a few weeks, Ramona made a few trips to a location where she could get internet from a friend. Ramona explained that she was teaching some neighborhood kids in her home, in order to provide for her and her daughter. After Ramona lost the source of her income, she knew she had to find another way to get food for her daughter. Ramona and her daughter had been lacking basic necessities like shoes and food. Ramona was able to get a little help from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the area where she lives, but the need is so big that the help is limited to small baskets of food.
Ramona approached Operation Family Freedom with the idea to resell some basic food from her house to her neighbors. She applied for a small grant to get some Cheese, Sausages, flower for tortllas, and fruits to help ease her burden and provide for her self and her daughter until she is able to teach again.
Operation Family Freedom was able to provide a small grant to help get her started. Ramona expressed deep gratitude for the assistance.
