Familia Antonio – Bugs and Drought

Familia António survives in Venezuela from the small plot of land that they plant and harvest. Unfortunately, they are only able to plant and harvest during the rainy season because they don’t have water on their land. Even under good weather they still have to buy water and fill a tank to water the plants at times. In 2019, they lost the entire harvest because it did not rain much, and they were infested with bugs. This loss in 2019 severely devastated the family and their ability to provide for the family. Operation Family Freedom worked with Familia Antonio to provide water and insecticides so that they have a much higher chance of a successful harvest in 2020. We are excited to see the bountiful harvest at the end of the season.
