Familia Zambrano

ADVOCATE: Ana Yslas (written by Slade Gurr)

September 4, 2018

I was contacted by a former sister missionary that I worked with when I was in Venezuela. She had heard of some of the families we had been able to help and had been having a difficult time knowing how to get help with her situation. She legally immigrated to the United States just after our mission.

Ana, her sister, and their families have been supporting family back in Venezuela for some time. They have spent considerable amounts of money on a regular basis to help their brother and older sisters relocate. Ana and her family have spent their savings in an effort to help the family in Venezuela. Ana’s brother had a legal visa and pathway for legitimate and legal work here in the united states for some time. He has been waiting to save enough money for the air passage to the United States,  He recently learned that if he tries to finish the journey within 6 months of his visa expiration, he will not be allowed to finish the process. It was determined that if he didn’t act now, he would not be allowed to complete the process he started several years ago! He has made arrangements for him to get to Mexico. From there he needs a flight into the US where he can finish the process.

Because, they have exhausted all resources, they need assistance with the plane ticket from Mexico. As things are, she will be securing the ticket as soon as she can. Thanks to the donations that have come in, we will be able to help her cover at least half of the costs.

Some time has passed since I solicited financial contributions, I suggest you take a minute and watch THIS video. Things just keep getting worse for the Venezuelan people. I am saddened to see anyone in such a state. It has been a privilege to work with you all in helping a few families find at least a glimmer of hope, in an otherwise bleak ocean.

I am happy to report that Levi has safely made it to his sisters in Provo. It was only after a lot of prayers and several miracles that he was able to make the deadline for his legal paperwork. Levi arrived earlier this week and had appointments set up to work on his status in the United States later in the week. Levi’s family actually carried the majority of the financial burden, but helping pay for the ticket was a huge blessing and they expressed that they just wouldn’t have been able to do it otherwise.

Levi has a long road ahead of him. He will be working to finalize his status here in the United States. Levi and his family expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for the help of those generous families that contributed to this family reunion and the new hope they all have for the future.
