What I wish I had today!

The experiences that Venezuelan families live through today are perhaps more critical than what you can imagine.  You have to be here to know how we really live.

However, although this terrible situation is getting worse, we long for some things to improve the lives of our families within the country. Here are some that would make life easier.

Food stores:

We want so much to have at least a few items of food stored for emergencies, perhaps it would not have been enough to cover all years that we have been under the famine caused by socialism, but without a doubt, it would have helped in times of greatest need. Even though it’s hard to believe that in this day and age there are so many people dying of hunger.

 Savings in dollars:

The dollar has become the predominant currency in all commercial affairs of the country on the black market, if the price of the dollar in bolivars rises, all other products do as well. The few bolivars we have are not even enough to cover 5% of our needs, so the most successful thing for these times would have been to save during the times of plenty a few dollars to help in emergencies.

Health insurance:

health issues are a matter of terror in Venezuela, we do not have good hospitals, medicines, equipment, or specialized medical personnel. So in those moments of despair, everyone in our country wishes they were affiliated with some medical insurance.  However, only some private clinics in the country can attend to the emergencies and diseases that we face.  However, who can afford insurance?

Funds to start your own business:

The unemployment rate in Venezuela has increased a lot, either due to a reduction of personnel or voluntary resignation.  Many people have decided to start a business with the little they have, since it is more feasible than  spending many hours of work for a poor salary in Bolivars. However, growing a business in the middle of the Corina Virus crisis is an impossible task so we pray that one day we will be helped in the financing of our ideas to give a better life to our families.

Honestly, socialism is a monster that we face every day, because of it our country has lost much value.  We could have prepared ourselves to endure these times of adversity, but the day came without warning.
